Source pathway descriptionAfforestation and restoration project on degraded and under-productive grassland, spanning up to 13,600 hectares in the Vichada region of Colombia's eastern plains within the Orinoquía. A majority mix of native species will be planted, strengthening biodiversity and the long-term resilience of the ecosystem.
Storage descriptionOnce established, the forest is expected to be designated as conservation land, securing the permanence of the forest and its carbon removal outcomes.

NotesProject Llanos Vivos is being developed by &Forest and Climate Impact Partners. Aviva Investors is funding through its Carbon Removal Fund and will receive rights to a share of future carbon credits. &Forest acts as on-the-ground implementation partner. Project is expected to create more than 110 local jobs during peak planting seasons and allocate dedicated land areas to community-run farms.
